MLSE LaunchPad opens it's doors to the public by Laura Meli

On January 26th, MLSE and MLSE Foundation celebrated the official unveiling of its groundbreaking youth focused facility.  The event publicly unveiled MLSE LaunchPad to the community, donors and media and included a performance of O Canada by Dixon Hall Choir, speeches from MLSE Chairman, Larry Tanenbaum; MLSE’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Michael Friisdahl; MLSE Foundation’s Chair of the Board, Aris Kaplanis and MLSE LaunchPad’s Chair of the Board, Freda Colbourne. Speeches were followed by the facility’s ceremonial first hockey goal with Maple Leafs alumnus Shayne Corson, first basket with Toronto Raptors alumnus Jamaal Magloire and first soccer goal with Toronto FC alumnus Dwayne De Rosario in the MLSE LaunchPad’s multipurpose gymnasium. The event concluded with self-guided tours of the facility for guests, with MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad staff on-hand to provide expert background information for each area of the facility.   

Sprint Mechanical is a proud to be one of the top-tier donors of the facility.

Hillcrest Mall $90 Million Expansion Now Open by Laura Meli

The renovation and expansion of Hillcrest Mall has been successfully completed and is now open to the public.  Sprint Mechanical was proud to be on PCL's construction team as the mechanical contractor for this project.  Please refer to the following article on the Daily Commercial News for more information:


Humber Breaks Ground on Welcome and Athletics Centre by Laura Meli

On January 23, 2015, Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning broke ground today on the college’s new Welcome and Athletics Centre at the Lakeshore campus.  

The Welcome Centre will house student services including registration, career services, student life, health and counselling services, a test centre, a multi-faith centre, and the campus’s Aboriginal Resource Centre. A variety of display spaces and activity centre will allow for ongoing programs and educational sessions. The community will also have access to onsite, after-hours parking.

The Athletic Centre will be 24,000 square feet and feature fully equipped weight and cardio rooms as well as group exercise and aerobics studios. Residents will be welcome to use the facility through a community membership plan.

Sprint Mechanical is part of the Design-Assist team constructing these new buildings for Humber College.
